Get ready for an absolutely fantastic evening on the water! We are kicking off an early celebration for America's 250th, and we want to show everyone why SSYC is known as the friendliest, most fun yacht club in Newport Harbor!
To make the night truly spectacular, show off your patriotic spirit and dress up in your most festive red, white, and blue or 4th of July outfits!
Bring a Prospective New Member!
This is the perfect night to introduce your friends to the SSYC family. We are actively encouraging everyone to bring a prospective new member as a guest! Let’s pack the boat, roll out the welcome mat, and show them exactly what a fun, welcoming, and lively group we are.
Our 5th event of the Summer Hibachi Series is happening Wednesday, July 1st. Whether your guests want to try their hand at running the race or just kick back with a drink and enjoy the harbor, they are going to have a blast.
The Game Plan (Don't Miss the Boat!)

5:00 PM – Meet up on the dock at Marina Park (1600 W. Balboa Boulevard). Come early to mingle!

5:15 PM SHARP – Molokai Girl departs for the starting area westerly of Harbor Island.

6:00 PM (1800 Hours) – 1st Race Warning.

~7:30 PM – We return to the dock, full of good food and great memories.
Feast & Refreshments Aboard Molokai Girl
Once we get the racers safely across the start line for Race 5, the party really starts. The SSYC Cruise Committee is hosting a delicious dinner for all crew and guests aboard Molokai Girl!

The Main Course: A delicious dinner is provided by the club!

The Sides: Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share (sized for 4 people) so we have a perfect spread of treats.

The Drinks: BYOB (Bring your favorite beverages to toast the evening).

Keep the Boat Happy: To keep our beautiful host boat looking her best, please remember strictly no red wine (or anything that stains) and be sure to wear rubber-soled shoes!
⏱️ Join the Race Committee (No Experience Needed!)
Want a front-row seat to the action? Join us on the Race Committee boat! Absolutely no experience is required—it just takes a few friendly hands to help run the start sequence and log the finish times. It's incredibly fun and easy.
Of course, if you or your guests just want to relax, watch the beautiful sunset racing, and enjoy dinner and drinks, that is dynamic, too!
