29th Ensenada -Dana Point Tune-Up.
SSYC Race Committee will oversee the start of the 14.2-mile race from Newport Beach to Dana Point.
We will pick up the Race Committee and guests at the Marina Park dock near the Lighthouse Café at 9:30 am and will leave the dock by 9:45am. We should be in the starting area by 10:30am which is 200 yards South of the Balboa Pier to set the starting line and to prepare for checking in boats. We typically have four 5-minute rolling start sequences, so we’ll be done by 12:20 PM and can pick up the tetrahedron and head back to the dock by 1:15 PM.
Dana Point Yacht Club will have their own boat to score the finish. The trophy presentation will be upstairs in the bar area at DPYC at 7:00 PM. Sometimes it’s a little sooner, depending on the wind for the day. Everyone is welcome to attend the trophy presentation. John Marshall will be heading to DPYC by 5:00 for dinner. Join John early for dinner or come for drinks and the Trophy presentation.
Gain firsthand experience as a race committee crew member or just sit back, relax, and enjoy beautiful Newport Harbor and the Pacific Ocean aboard our race committee boat, Molokai Girl!
Lunch will be provided. Bring your own drinks, warm clothes, rubber-soled shoes and, please, no red wine.
All members and guests are welcome. Race committee Boat is limited to the first 20 people registering. Nominal $5 to cover lunch costs.
Nonmembers must complete the SSYC Participation, Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (see link below)
