The Jim White Memorial Winter Series continues with the 1st warning at 12:00 noon.
Molokai Girl will be the Race Committee boat and will pick up the Race Committee at the Marina Park dock near the Lighthouse Café. Plan to arrive by 10:45 as we will depart from the dock at 11:00 to set up the start/finish line westerly of Harbor Island. Same locations as the Summer Hibachi Series.
You will need to bring your own food, drink, foul weather gear, rubber-soled shoes and please, no red wine. There will be TWO races on Saturday. The first 5-minute race starting sequence begins at noon. After all boats finish the first race, we’ll start the second race.
There should be lots of free parking on Bay St and also on W. Balboa Blvd. Read the parking signs and allow an extra 15 mins to find parking and to walk back to the Marina.
You can expect to return to the dock by 3:30 in the afternoon. We’ll meet back at the club for trophies.
If you’d like to be on the Race Committee boat, please register ASAP as space is limited. Guests are welcome, but need to sign a waiver.

Ladies of SSYC, it’s time to trade the "to-do" list for a "to-sip" list! Pack your bags and leave the stress behind—we’re heading to the American Riviera for an overnight adventure filled with ocean breezes, belly laughs, and zero traffic.
Forget the 101 traffic. We’re taking the Amtrak! From the moment we board, the vacation begins. Kick off your shoes, relax, and enjoy the coastal views while we chat our way to Santa Barbara.
Saturday: After settling in, we’ll grab a chic lunch in town before heading to the Funk Zone for some world-class wine tasting. We’ll also stroll through the Arts & Crafts Show along the water and wrap up the night with a fabulous dinner at one of Santa Barbara’s best-kept culinary secrets.
Sunday: Morning coffee leads us to the Baad Sunday Vintage & Makers Market ( 20+ vendors of jewelry, art, and music). If you’re feeling curious, we can explore the Museum of Natural History before our grand finale: a visit to the Santa Barbara Yacht Club!
When: March 21 – 22
Deadline: Register by March 13th
Rooming: Please let Martha know if you’d like a private sanctuary (single room) or if you're happy to share the fun with a roommate!
Why you should come: Because you deserve a weekend that’s "chock full" of adventure, bonding, and beautiful views. Let's make some memories!

⚓ SECURE YOUR SPOT: New "Land-Based" Cruise Options Now Open!
SSYC Cruise Committee is thrilled to launch this exciting new initiative, making our premier cruises more accessible than ever for members without their own boats—don't miss out!
Call to action :
You must register and pay the 1st deposit by 2/14/26 (Non refundable)
1st deposit : $200 per person
Balance due 3/10/2026 : $175 per person
SSYC Cruise committee will cover another $300 which includes the
Trip Cancellation Protection and Accidental Damage Protection plan
SSYC proudly embraces non-boat owners as full-fledged members.
2012-2013 Commodore John & Robin Marshall, 2018 Commodore Dean & Barbara Russell, 2020-2021 Commodore Chris & Andrea Haro joined without boats and now skipper their own sailing or motor vessels—your journey could be next!
This land-based option will allow more members to share in our Catalina cruise, even without owning a boat.
Magic on the water
Imagine arriving in Catalina via private boat: dolphins racing alongside, wildlife up close, that thrill never fades. The goal of this program is to allow more members to experience that passage, even if their primary lodging is on shore.
Ride over on Molokai Girl or on Dean & Barbara’s 36’ Motor Vessel or one of the other boats in the SSYC fleet.
We will be able to take a number of members who are staying ashore, giving you a chance to enjoy the crossing, help pick up and secure a mooring, and take part in the on-the-water side of the cruise. It is a fun way to be “in the middle of it” under the watchful gaze of all those boats already snug on their moorings.
“This initiative is a great idea. In the past, we have strived to include non-boaters on members boats for cruises. We also encouraged members to drive to a cruise location and join in on the activities.
This initiative adds a whole new dimension for members to join in and experience the Avalon cruise itself. It will be an amazing, unforgettable time” ........ Dean S Russell, SSYC Staff Commodore
