The Jim White Memorial Winter Series begins Saturday, January 10th, with the 1st warning at 12:00 noon.
Molokai Girl will be the Race Committee boat and will pick up the Race Committee at the Marina Park dock near the Lighthouse Café. Plan to arrive by 10:45 as we will depart from the dock at 11:00 to set up the start/finish line westerly of Harbor Island. Same locations as the Summer Hibachi Series.
You will need to bring your own food, drink, foul weather gear, rubber-soled shoes and please, no red wine. There will be TWO races on Saturday. The first 5-minute race starting sequence begins at noon. After all boats finish the first race, we’ll start the second race.
There should be lots of free parking on Bay St and also on W. Balboa Blvd. Read the parking signs and allow an extra 15 mins to find parking and to walk back to the Marina.
You can expect to return to the dock by 3:30 in the afternoon. We’ll meet back at the club for trophies.
If you’d like to be on the Race Committee boat, please register ASAP as space is limited. Guests are welcome, but need to sign a waiver.

Many thanks to Penny Nelson for coordinating all the trip details

Group name: SSYC
Group Number: 1946855
Phone number for group reservations: 1-800-465-3595
Final payment due: November 9, 2025 (IMPORTANT!)
Check-in date: December 9, 2025
If anyone wants to join our group on the cruise, they should call the number above and provide the group number and name. They will NOT get our same fare; they will need to pay the current fare offered by Royal. Unlike when we went through the travel agent, who was able to hold a block of rooms at a certain price, we are booked directly with Royal. I would encourage anyone who wants to go to book ASAP. If the price goes down, they can get a price reduction from Royal before they pay their final payment. They may not be able to book a cabin near us. Royal told me we grabbed the last 3. However, travel agents routinely save blocks of rooms, so there is a chance they can get a cabin near us at a later date when the rooms are released.
Here's a way to save money on this cruise: Royal is currently offering 30,000 bonus points if you sign up for their credit card (see their website for details). That translates to $300 in onboard credit. You just have to spend $1,000 on the card in the first 90 days. You will have all of this year to continue to earn points towards your cruise after that. I suggest you use the card to pay off your balance as well, as you earn 2X the points spent on Royal.
I will continue throughout the year to keep you all updated on any information and developments as I become aware of them.

The Jim White Memorial Winter Series continues with the 1st warning at 12:00 noon.
DATES: May 16th to May 23rd
In order to get the Black Friday Deal on The Moorings, we need to make the deposits for the 4 boats on this Friday. The estimated total cost of the boat per cabin for the week is $3600. so an $1800 deposit ($900 per person) is required to hold your spot. The deposit is refundable by Friday, January 16th. We are using our club bank account and Wild Apricot so you can use a credit card for the deposit and balance. The balance will be due Feb 1 but this just holds the boats for us. We are all on the 45ft catamarans. Here is the link so you can see it the boat.
Deposit of $900 per person based on double occupancy
More info will be coming from Captain Maureen Vild just after we secure the boats. I have spoken to most of you about cabin assignments already, but there are a few more yet to finalize.
Expenses that you will incur Individually: airfare, eating out when we stop on each island, and adult beverages
Expenses that we will share per boat to be collected per boat: provisioning for the trip upon arrival in Tortola. Each boat will pool money to buy food and snacks for on board dinners and cruising.
We may have money left over in the trip fund and that overage will be used to fund our flotilla captain and any other items that arise. Depending upon the overage, we may plan a group event at one of our stops.
